slow learner

sometimes it takes a long time, decades, or longer
Epiphanies can be like a slow burning underground fire. Yesterday, while standing at the kitchen sink and taking in the wonder of the citrus trees in blossom, hummingbirds swooping through for their early rounds, I realized something in my heart, my gut, my soul, whatever we call the knowing that is beyond the mind, thoughts, knowing.
We are all of the cosmos, the earth specifically, and arise from it in the same way that plants and all other life on earth arises... and we have our time "living" after which we go back to the cosmos/earth and everything keeps living. Including us. We are naturally occuring, and our lives are meaningful in context of everything else that is arising with us. We are part of it - weaving into and through and then onward. Nothing is separate from this process. And in fact, all of the connecting that we do with everything else is what living is about. Whether you are a pomelo blossom, a hummingbird, or an almost 67 year old woman standing in the middle of her life.
Dear reader - you and I are connected through these words. And in a zillion other ways. I appreciate your being here, taking in this brief sharing.
